Solar Industry Bushfire Fundraising Campaign
As members of the solar community, we are already working against the tide of global warming in an effort to halt its advancement. Yet never before has the effect of global warming been so tangible. Even for all of us, who, as part of this industry, talk about the risks of climate change every day, the widespread devastation during this Australian bushfire season has been unfathomable. It’s been an unchartered start to the season in both scale and ferocity, and we have watched in despair as fires have merged and engulfed communities, homes, and devastatingly, so much life.
As an industry that cares so much for the environment, there is no doubt that this is a cause we can all get behind and unite on. Together we can support our exhausted disaster-relief-workers and the people and animals who have been so tragically affected by this disaster. Let’s be creative in digging deep so that in giving to the victims, volunteers, and organisations on the frontline, we can help to provide a means to carry on as we brace for more extreme conditions ahead.
Maybe it’s a morning tea fundraiser with your team, some items you auction or donate, or a portion of your solar sales you contribute. Nothing is too small. Please also feel free to use this forum as a means to discuss opportunities to help affected communities with emergency power through time/labour or equipment donations.
Let’s stand proud as the solar industry and show our support for those in need!
All proceeds from this fundraiser will go to The Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
