Solaire's Cancer Boss Battle
Donation protected
Years ago, James and I promised each other that if we ever adopted a big, white, joyful dog, his name would be Solaire.
It wasn't long after this time that we met an almost hairless 6 month old puppy. He was a big guy, despite being ravaged by parvovirus and mange. What little hair he had was in little white patches. He tried his best to be the most wiggly bouncy puppy at the adoption fair, even when it took every ounce of strength he had.
We took Solaire home that day.
Solaire has lived up to his name in every regard. For a dog who had such a rotten beginning, he has grown up to be such a happy guy. He has been our light, our protector, and our companion through so many major movements. In January of 2025, he was diagnosed with bone cancer. Our world collapsed around us when we heard those words. He still loved so much to eat good food, to torment the rabbit, to see his friends, to go on walks (or, rather, go on lays-- he likes to go out and sleep in the sun). Looking into his eyes, we saw someone who still wanted more of life.
Sol completed radiation therapy. He started chemo. He got stronger. He started to walk more. We had hope that our baby boy would be with us for a while longer. However, the cancer had eaten a significant portion of bone before we got our diagnosis. While trying to dart outside for his morning walk, the bone finally gave out. Despite having a broken bone, Sol still wants to do everything as normal. Other than the offending cancerous broken limb, the rest of his body is healthy as can be.
It's not time to end the jolly cooperation.
So that's the story of our beloved Sol. We will move forward with the next stage of treatment, which is why we are now asking for a bit of help. If you feel so inclined, we would appreciate any help for his medical bills.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
James and Christy Stone
