SoKY Marketplace is actively working on feeding 500-700 people this week and in the weeks to come. We are preparing and delivering 3x/day to relief workers and community members who are affected by tornado damage, power outages , etc. here in Bowling Green, KY. Below you can see a volunteer delivering food to an affected neighborhood off Russellville Road in Bowling Green.

 

 

We need help from anyone who might have the means to give, in order to continue serving our city and the surrounding county in the best way we know how. We’ve had some private donations, but our costs have exceeded those now.

 

We have been sourcing some of our food and supplies from local businesses, such as Bluegrass Kitchen, Bentley Farms, Cherry Farms, Bluegrass Grazing, and B.T. Leigh's Sauces and Rubs, but we need more help! That's where you come in.

 

Our goal is $2,000, but any little bit helps. These funds will primarily be used to help us purchase additional supplies for bagged lunches to take out into the community on a daily basis. With your help, we would be able to increase the number of affected citizens that we are able to reach.

 

 

We have coordinated with Bowling Green's fire departments, police departments, and other local offices, such as the Road Department (seen in the first image below), to arrange food drops to relief workers and assess needs in various parts of Warren County. Volunteers from the community have been bagging lunches, purchasing supplies, driving meals to be disbursed in the community, and helping clean up the kitchen each day. Both hot food and bagged lunches are being prepared in the commercial kitchen space at SoKY Marketplace. All hot food is being prepared by certified cooks, to ensure food safety protocols are adhered to.
