Dear friend, colleague, and/or well-wisher,
After a competitive selection process, I am humbled to inform you that my friend Eliseus Bamporineza has been selected as a key contributor to the SOILTRIBES Bootcamp taking place on 7 - 8 October 2025 in Porto, Portugal.
Eliseus Bamporineza is a soil health champion and certified climate adaptation trainer at both Coalition of Action for Soil Health (CA4SH) and Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) respectively. He holds a degree in International Relations and Integrated Studies from USIU-Africa thanks to the ALA- MasterCard Foundation Scholarship.
While all his travel and accommodation are covered, the support does not include the upfront administrative costs which amounts to *600 USD*. Unfortunately, a few months ago, due to funding cuts, the organization he was working for laid him off. His financial situation is such that he is not able to raise the amount needed on his own.
He is therefore reaching out to you to humbly ask for your support in raising $600 USD to cover the essential costs (more on that later).
SOILTRIBES is a global forum which brings together innovators, policymakers, and grassroots actors to co-create solutions for soil health, climate resilience, and sustainable agriculture.
Passionate about soil health and coming from Burundi a country whose major part of its soils is degrading, this opportunity offers him a platform to talk about the initiative very close to his heart: Children4Soil Movement; Championing Soil Health Justice through Soil Literacy from an early age.
He will be collaborating with winning teams from across Europe to co-create strategies and tools that guarantee soil health restoration and protection. This is a unique opportunity to put soil health education for children on the global map and to build partnerships that can help implement and scale the Children4Soil Movement across Africa.
Here is how your contribution will be used:
Passport Application &stamp; Processing Fees: $150
(My current passport has expired. This cost covers the government fees for a new standard
passport)
Portugal Schengen Visa Application Fee: $90 (A mandatory fee paid to the embassy for
the visa processing.)
Round-Trip Travel Health Insurance (Schengen Requirement): $110
(A non-negotiable requirement for all visa applicants to ensure coverage while abroad.)
Visa Application Center Service Charge & Documentation: $100
(This includes passport photos, courier fees, and the mandatory service charge for the visa
application center where biometrics are taken.)
In-country transport to and from the embassy: $100
Emergency Buffer & Transaction Fees: $50
(Covers unforeseen costs and platform payment processing fees so that your full donation goes
towards the cause.)
Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
If you would like to personally reach out to him, contact him at [email redacted]
