Maasai Vegetable Garden & Soil Recovery Project

Hi, my name is Ayubu Naandi, I am co-funder of Maasai Volunteering Solutions that represents 32 Maasai villages of Engikaret Area in Longido District, close to Arusha in Tanzania.

We are facing difficult times in this area, because of the drought, climate change has affected us very deeply, our animals, and wildlife started to die and our health is getting affected even the way to live. As a community we don't want to move, instead, we want to bring knowledge and opportunities to improve the environment and our life.

We have realized we have a lot of manure, because of our activity, and we started to learn how to use it to recover the soil and do vegetable gardens.

How can you help us to start our project?

We are fencing common areas of the community that will be managed by groupd of villages. We need to implement Dripping Irrigations System on them and get a cart per group to transport water. You can donate:

The rainy season is coming on November so we want to be ready. During the dry season we expect to fill the tanks with the water of our dams.
