Soham Town Rangers Youth F.C. needs your help!
Our youth football club provides a safe, fun, and competitive environment for local children to learn the game, stay active, and build lifelong friendships. Our home grounds at Kingfisher Drive are the heart of everything we do — it's where our youngest players train, play weekend matches, and make memories.
However, our facilities are in need of some much-needed investment to ensure that our young players have a safe, secure, welcoming, and enjoyable place to play football.
Our pitch maintenance equipment is on its last legs, and we are in desperate need of a new, reliable lawnmower. But that's not all. We also need to improve the security and appearance of our facilities, including new fencing to help secure the grounds, as well as painting and some maintenance work to remove graffiti and improve the appearance of the building and surrounding areas.
These improvements will make a huge difference to our players, families, volunteers, and the wider local community.
Why We Need Your Help
Maintaining quality grassroots football facilities takes constant care, and as a volunteer-run, non-profit club, we rely heavily on the generosity of our community and supporters.
Pitch Maintenance
Without reliable grounds maintenance equipment:
- Match Cancellations: Overgrown pitches can lead to poor playing conditions, waterlogging, and cancelled games.
- Player Safety: Uneven and poorly maintained grass can increase the risk of trips and injuries for our young players.
- Pitch Health: Regular cutting and maintenance are essential to keep the turf healthy, durable, and playable throughout the long football season.
- Improving Security
Our facilities also need improved security. New fencing around the grounds would help protect the pitches, equipment, and buildings, while creating a safer and more secure environment for our young players and visitors.
Creating a Better Environment
We want our home at Kingfisher Drive to be somewhere our players and families can feel proud of. Painting the building, removing graffiti, and carrying out general improvements and repairs will help us create a cleaner, more welcoming environment for everyone who uses the facilities.
As a volunteer-run, non-profit grassroots club, our limited budget goes directly towards supporting our players through winter training facilities, coaching, training equipment, pitch maintenance, and facility upkeep. The cost of a commercial-grade mower, new fencing, painting, graffiti removal, and other essential improvements is simply more than our regular funds can cover.
