SofTech cushion for Michael Delano

I am trying to raise money in order to purchase a new seating system  for my power wheelchair which I have been confined due to a motorcycle accident in 1990 that left me paralyzed from the neck down.

I have unfortunately spent the last year and a half bed ridden due to multiple pressure sores caused by my current seating system. Throughout the years I have had several surgeries directly related to pressure sores. Each surgery takes a minimum of six weeks recovery time flat on your back to heal . I have exhausted any future surgery options because there is nothing else they can do. This new technology in the Softech cushion by Aquila is what they call a dynamic cushion. It has continuous airflow with alternating chambers within to stimulate blood flow resulting in greater circulation. This technology is critical for me to both heal current sores and prevent any new ones. Not having the ability to physically move my body around hinders me from getting the proper circulation while sitting. Most cushions out there are classified as static cushions such as the Roho or a normal foam cushion. They rely on the patient to make their own pressure adjustments by physically moving themselves.

This seating system has been recommended by my physical therapist and physician.

My situation has become urgent and that is the reasoning for me asking for help. I cannot afford to wait any longer. I am unable to financially purchase this cushion on my own. Insurance coverage is not an option at this point that is why I am asking for a little help.
