Hello, we’re Emerald Hurley and Caylee Morton, juniors at Friday Harbor High School and members of the varsity softball team.
We’re leading a community project to build a permanent, manual scoreboard at Linde Field, managed by Island Rec. This is a project we are planning, funding, and building ourselves.
As players, we’ve spent countless hours on this field, and one thing it has always lacked is a clear, reliable scoreboard. Without one, it can be challenging for players, coaches, and fans to stay fully engaged during games. Our goal is to improve that experience—not just for our team, but for future players and the entire community.
This project is about more than a scoreboard. It’s about giving back, creating something lasting, and taking pride in the place where we play.
All funds raised will go directly toward the materials needed to build a safe, durable scoreboard. Every contribution makes a difference, and sharing this effort is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your support and for helping us bring this project to life.

*Emerald and Caylee are both student athletes at FHHS. As a non-profit, Purple & Gold is sponsoring their community project and will be using donations received to pay for the supplies needed for them to build a scoreboard at Linde Field.
