Síofra's Transition Fund

Hi Everyone, My name is Síofra Thana Augusteijn, a 24 year old trans woman residing in The Netherlands.

 

I have been on hormone replacement therapy for 3 years now, and am in the process of furthering my affirmation of my gender and body after years of struggling with it and trying to figure out what works for me. I am starting this GFM to help cover the costs of gender affirming procedures, mainly facial feminisation surgery. As I am a student it is almost impossible for me to set aside money and is a procedure that is not covered by Dutch health insurance. So I am turning to my community, friends and family for help and asking if you could help me financially to fund these procedures, which would drastically increase my quality of life.

 

I would like to add an explanation of gender dysphoria and why facial feminisation surgery is so important made by my sister Isla Love Clarke, for her GFM because it is a very clear and accurate description which also applies for me:

 

I experience Gender Dysphoria, which means for me that I struggle on a daily basis with existing in my body and finding the capacity to love it and myself. It is a constant trauma, being in a body that does not allow me and the world to see the woman that I am. FFS is a series of procedures that can have the power to help alleviate facial Dysphoria, along with offering me more safety in the world, and comfort in my body. In addition to possibly helping me navigate spaces without the fear of being misgendered, mocked, harassed or attacked. For me, FFS is something that I have been dreaming of for a long time, and I would like to be able to move on to the next chapter of my transition, with your help.
