Help Give Sofía a Second Chance at Walking — and Living Without Pain

Hello, my name is Lady, and together with my husband Joshue, we’re writing this with our hearts in our hands.

Our beloved dog Sofía, a sweet and spirited 1-year and 9-month-old Pomeranian, is going through something incredibly painful and needs urgent surgery to be able to walk again without suffering.

Just a few days ago, we noticed she started limping. At first, we hoped it was something minor, but after taking her to the vet for her vaccinations and X-rays, we were given a devastating diagnosis:

Bilateral hip dysplasia

Patellar luxation in both hind legs

Severe osteoarthritis

Possible ligament damage in her knees

Sofía cries when we try to pick her up or even gently touch her legs. She no longer runs or plays like she used to — and watching her in this state breaks our hearts. She’s barely eating, has vomited, and is clearly in pain every day.

The treatment she needs is expensive. We’ve been told that the total cost for her surgery and specialized care may reach up to $20,000 — an amount we simply cannot cover on our own. But we are not giving up. Sofía deserves a second chance at a happy, pain-free life.

Nuestra perrita Sofía, una Pomerania de 1 año y 9 meses, está pasando por una situación muy dolorosa y necesita una cirugía urgente para poder volver a caminar sin sufrimiento.

Hace unos días notamos que comenzó a cojear. Al principio pensamos que era algo leve, pero cuando la llevamos al veterinario para sus vacunas y rayos X, nos dieron un diagnóstico devastador:

Displasia de cadera bilateral

Luxación de rótula en ambas patas traseras

Osteoartritis severa

Posible lesión de ligamento en sus rodillas.

Sofía llora cuando intentamos cargarla o tocarle las patitas. Ya no corre ni juega como antes, y verla así me parte el alma. Está comiendo muy poco, ha vomitado, y claramente está sufriendo.

El tratamiento es costoso. Se nos ha dicho que el costo de la cirugía y el tratamiento especializado puede ser de hasta $20,000 dólares, algo que en este momento nos es imposible cubrir solos. Pero no nos queremos rendir. Sofía merece una segunda oportunidad.

Por eso estoy pidiendo ayuda. Cada donación, por pequeña que sea, puede hacer una diferencia enorme.
