Hi Family, Friends, and Supporters!
For the past five years, my heart has been intertwined with the vibrant communities of Kenya. As an international social worker, I've had the privilege of working alongside dedicated Kenyans, learning from their strength and resilience.
This May 2025, I'm embarking on a special journey: leading a team of Baylor University social work students on a cultural exchange and multidisciplinary service trip. Students from nursing, engineering, and educational psychology department will also be joining this trip! This trip is an opportunity to foster genuine partnerships, learn from each other, and serve together.
We're approaching this experience with humility, as learners and servants, not "experts" or "saviors." Our goal is to increase capacity and engage in empowerment for all involved. Our primary focus will be supporting a K-12 school by working alongside their Social Services Department, comprised of dedicated social workers, school counselors, and a chaplain. We'll be purchasing, collecting, and donating a projector and screen, backpacks, OTC meds, water bottles, and other supplies for the department and students.
This work is made possible through the generosity and partnership of people like you. It's imperative that all funds be raised by May 4, 2025 to ensure that we can collect and pack all supplies before departure. We also humbly ask for your prayers as we prepare to travel in mid-late May 2025. Thank you for your support and for being a part of this journey!
