Hi there, my name is Laniha and I need your help!
I am a Social Work student studying to get my Bachelor’s degree at Bemidji State University, as well as a certificate in Public & Non-Profit Management. My long-term goals include earning my Master's in Social Work, and one day developing my own Non-Profit.
Bemidji State is partnering with Mankato State to offer 40 students an extraordinary educational opportunity this spring!
Social Work Abroad: International Human Rights program.
I have been accepted to be 1 of the 40 students (1 of 10 from BSU), but to make this opportunity feasible I need your help!
As a social work student, advocate, and fellow human, I am committed to understanding how human rights are upheld — and challenged — across cultures and systems. This opportunity will allow me to explore these concepts in a meaningful (and cost-effective) way!
That includes:
- Visiting international organizations such as the United Nations, the International Red Cross, World Health Organization, and the International Criminal Court
- Engaging directly with professionals, scholars, and grassroots organizations working on human rights and social justice issues
- Exploring cultural and historical sites that illuminate the struggles and triumphs of human rights movements across the world
This is a great learning opportunity for me to strengthen my academic and professional skills!
The total program cost is approximately $6,167 and as a full-time student, it is beyond my personal means.
Donate if you can!
Share with friends and family!
Any contribution is appreciated and will not go unnoticed!
Thank you for your support, it helps make dreams a reality.
If you have any questions regarding the trip or what I plan to do with my education please reach out!
