Autism/Asperger's Camp & 501(c)(3)

My name is Rhonda R. Parker, M.Ed, and I'm the Founder/Executive Director of Parker Autism Center (PAC), a new 501(c)(3) non-profit organization headquartered in
Mesquite, Texas, dedicated to addressing the variety of complex needs borne by children, adults, and families affected by Autism and Asperger's Syndrome.

By way of background, I'm a retired educator who has served multiple, populous school districts in Texas, particularly in the field of Autism and Aspberger's, namely, the Fort Worth Independent School District (FWISD), the Dallas Independent School District (DISD), and the Irving Independent School District (IISD). I was also twice nominated for a district Teacher of The Year Award, and was a recipient of a Resolution from the State of Texas for being an Outstanding Contributor to Education in the Dallas Independent School District (DISD). For over 25 years, I strenuously championed the educational rights of children and adults affected by Autism and Asperger's, and now, via PAC, I additionally, diligently advocate for their rights and needs outside of the classroom as well.

Educationally speaking, I'm a doctoral degree candidate (2018), and a longstanding holder of a Master's Degree in Special Education and Teaching, and an EC-12 Special Education Certificate. I'm also a certified Special Olympics Coach, and was awarded the distinction of Autism Cohort by the State of Texas.

I am honored to be the Founder and Executive Director of PAC, which is ever missioned to supply children and adults impacted by Autism and Asperger's--both locally and nationwide--with crucial advocacy, information, resources, programs, and access to vital educational opportunities.

The purpose of this GoFundMe page is to:

1) generally raise donations to support the 501(c)(3) programs, events, and administrative needs of Parker Autism Center (PAC); and,

2) support the funding of an ongoing Parker Autism Center (PAC) Social Skills Camp for middle, high school students and adults on the Autism Spectrum.  The initial camp was launched in Summer 2017 (June), and concluded for the season at the end of August 2017. We are seeking to provide a full-day program for youth and adults whom need Social Skills/Socialization Training/Communication Development. The PAC Autism Social Skills Camp utilizes a researched-based curriculum, and ongoing funds are needed to assist parents who are unable to pay for their children's participation, hire and train crucial support staff, and purchase additionally necessary materials. Any amount is welcome and greatly needed! I urge you to contact or email me if you have any questions. Thank you profoundly for your support!
