Soccer for Hope
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Olivia, and I am an 8th grader at the Red Oaks School. I have been playing soccer since I was 4 years old. For my service project this year, I want to give back to a charity that supports soccer and physical education. My former soccer coach, James Murray, formed this fantastic non-profit, called Supporting the Future, to help children in South Africa and Lesotho get outside and be physical in a safe environment.
Many do not even have any equipment or clothes to play soccer, so I'm raising money for this cause. My goal is to raise enough money to buy 50 pairs of cleats and shin guards for the kids attending the camps.
The deadline for this is March 1, 2022, so we have enough time to buy the cleats and mail them to Supporting the Future, who will be traveling to Africa in April to work with the kids.
I will also have a drop-off spot at Verrilli's Bakery at 3 Martin Luther King Avenue in Morristown for lightly used sports equipment:
- Soccer jerseys
- Soccer shorts
- Soccer socks
- Cleats (good condition)
- Shin Guards (good condition)
- Soccer Balls
Soccer is very important to me, and it taught me many lessons. I feel very passionate about the sport; it has brought me a second family. I want to help kids that may not have the opportunity to play soccer to get a chance to experience the sport while building friendships and community.
Thanks so much!!!
