Let me say, at the outset, that if you know others who have been impacted by the wildfires that ripped through SoCal, please lend your support to them. We've really only set this up for folks who have reached out to us to offer help. We're not looking for broad support from our local community, who have so many greater needs than ours.
While we have been displaced from our home (we're just two blocks south of the origin of the Eaton Fire), it is still standing and will likely only need cleanup, rather than substantial repair. But, at this point, we're still unable to return because we don't yet have power. The air quality in and around our place is poor, and there is ash throughout our home that we'll need to contend with. And, as the situation stretches on, we find that we have to manage more and more immediate needs that FEMA or insurance won't cover (food, personal needs, replacement for items too damaged to safely use, etc).
So, if you'd like to help with a little cushion to get us through this transition, we would be immensely grateful.
