My name is Ana Rita António. I’m a Portuguese visual artist, product designer, and committed humanitarian citizen.

This August, while we enjoy the sun on our skin, delicious meals shared with friends and family, the joy of music festivals and the comfort of well-deserved peace, I cannot ignore the reality in Gaza.

Children are dying of hunger. Entire families are trapped. People are being denied access to the sea -unable to bathe or fish - as they face starvation, constant bombing and forced silence.

They can’t even reach the same sea we swim in.

What is this project about?

This is a call to awareness — written in the sky.

I’m raising funds to rent small airplanes (avionetes) that will fly along the Portuguese coast — from the Algarve to the central shoreline — carrying powerful messages of solidarity and resistance.

Messages that will be seen by thousands of people enjoying the beach.

Because sometimes, a message in the sky is what it takes to break through the noise - and the silence.

Where will the money go?

-To rent the aircrafts

-To produce and legally approve the aerial banners

-To cover logistics and operational costs

*Every cent will go directly to this mission.

Why does it matter?

Because privilege is a responsibility.

Because not all of us can swim in the same water.

Because while we enjoy peace, others are being erased.

Because choosing silence is choosing complicity.

Because we share this sky — but we must not share the indifference.

Because after striking the Palestinians’ right to food from the CPLP declaration, the Portuguese politicians are getting ready to ease into a serene, well-fed summer along its sun-drenched coastline — far from the hunger they chose not to acknowledge.
