Dustin Snyder's FTD Journey
Donation protected
In June 2020, Dustin Snyder, husband to Stacy, father to Caleb, Eliza & Joelle, and friend to all, received the worst news one could imagine. He was diagnosed with FTD, or Frontotemporal Dementia.
FTD causes degeneration or shrinking the frontal and/or temporal regions of the brain. Although it is often misdiagnosed as Alzheimer's as it has many similar symptoms, FTD is much more rare and occurs much earlier (typical age range is 45 -64). Individuals like Dustin who suffer from FTD quickly lose the ability to work and require increasing amounts of support. Over time, FTD predisposes an individual to many physical complications and the average life expectancy is 5 to 10 years after the start of symptoms. There is no cure for FTD.
This news was devastating to the Snyder's and their lives have been dramatically changed. The disease is exceptionally cruel financially in that it hits when most people are in the prime of their working life. No longer able to work, Dustin will require ever increasing medical care so the Snyder's not only have a loss of income but will also incur substantial out-of-pock medical expenses. The estimate for care is in excess of $250,000. All funds go directly to Stacy Snyder took support her care of Dusty.
As you can imagine, the Snyder family is overwhelmed emotionally and financially and so we ask that you provide them both messages of encouragement and monetary donations. Any donation, large or small, will be greatly appreciated by the family. The funds will directly defray some of cost of the medical care Dustin needs now and throughout his FTD journey. Please help us create the best possible care experience for Dustin and his family. Please donate and share with as many others as you can. Thank you!
