Friends and Family!
I’m excited to share that I was recently accepted to The Women's Campaign School at Yale University.
The program’s mission is to, “increase the number and influence of women in elected and appointed office in the United States and around the globe.” It is the premiere non-partisan political training program for women in the world. It draws women who are trailblazers in public life who are not afraid of a challenge. This program brings together women who influence issues, organize communities, and open the doors for others - This is at the heart of what I have grounded my career and life on.
I applied to the program in order to receive the tools and skills to make the difference I want to see in our political system. But I need your help!
I still remember my first time landing in Washington, DC. I didn't know exactly how the city worked or how to navigate it. However, I did know this was where decisions were being made about our country and my community. Since then, I’ve now learned that anyone who holds a seat at the table of public office is part of conversations that undoubtedly create ripples of change, for better or for worse, for families across the nation. Too many times women, people of color and other marginalized communities are left out of the process. This is why I submitted an application to the program.
My dream is twofold: 1)To empower and educate women 2) To return to McAllen, Texas, my home and run for office.
The total cost of the program, including flight and hotel expenses, is $4,000:
Flight and Board: $2,000.00 (Lima, Peru to New Haven, Connecticut)
Tuition: $1,800.00
Expenses: $200.00
Your contribution will take me a step closer to making my dream come true.
I hope you consider making a gift and being a part of my journey.
Con mucho amor,
Michelle Dhansinghani
