I’m sorry to share that I’ve been diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (breast cancer) Grade 2. It started with a routine mammogram in Nov 2025 through the mobile mammography unit at work. I’ve always been good about getting my mammograms and haven’t had any issues, but this one showed something concerning. After additional scans and tests, they did a biopsy which came back as cancer. Then they discovered a second spot but initially said it was benign (not cancer). After more scans and an additional biopsy of the second spot, it also came back as IDC Grade 2. With two large cancerous lumps, a lumpectomy (lump removal) is no longer an option.

I’m having double mastectomy surgery on Jan 30 without reconstruction (flat) and will be off work for approximately 6-8 weeks. Additional treatment plans will be discussed after the surgery and there’ll be many doctor appointments and follow ups over the coming months.

I’m trying to stay positive and am thankful for the emotional support of family and friends thus far. The medical bills have already started coming in and I’m worried about the financial burden of these additional medical expenses. My coworkers and supervisor encouraged me to start this GoFundMe and have agreed to help support and get the word out. I would appreciate any support and prayers as I go through this.
