We are the AMS Medical Genetics Club at UBC, a student organization dedicated to promoting education and awareness in genetics and genomic medicine. Through fun academic events, we connect students with researchers, healthcare professionals, and industry leaders to explore the future of genetic science.
As part of our programming, we are hosting a Charity Trivia Night, where STEM student associations compete in science-themed trivia rounds. The student associations competing this year are the UBC Microbiology and Immunology Student Association, UBC Diabetes Club, UBC Blood for Life, UBC Integrated Sciences Students Association, Undergraduate Chemistry Society of UBC, UBC Medical Genetics Club, UBC Biological Sciences Society, and UBC Vaccine Literacy Club. Each team playing on behalf of a charity of their choice.
At the end of the event:
- 75% of the prize pool will be donated to the 1st place team’s selected charity.
- 25% will be donated to the 2nd place team’s selected charity.
Participating charities include Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada, I Challenge Diabetes, Canadian Blood Services, Aunt Leah's, the Chemical Education Fund, BC Children's Hospital, Children Believe, and Gavi.
All donations raised here will go directly toward the prize pool, which will be donated to the winning teams’ charities.
Your support helps amplify student-led philanthropy while contributing to meaningful causes in our community and beyond.
Thank you for helping us use science for good!
