Housing Help for Jeff

Jeff really needs some help. He’s a disabled vet and a dad who suffered injury and illness while serving in the Air Force as a tactical aircraft maintenance technician, and then suffered a very serious TBI six years ago following a motor vehicle accident while he was on a service call working his job as an appliance technician. He was further abused by his superiors while in service who told him to forget being eligible for any benefits. He’s gone all this time thinking there was no help available. He doesn’t get a dime from social security or VA disability. His TBI has prevented him from pursuing any help on his own and there just hasn’t been anyone to help until very recently.
He has housing through a non-profit, however he was forced to leave his house due to an abusive situation and the house is currently illegally occupied. It’s going to take time for the eviction process to wind it’s way through the courts and just found out today it’s going to be MONTHS. Friends took him in, but he is losing that housing in another 2 or 3 weeks. He has nowhere to go. No family. These are his only local friends. He doesn’t have a dime coming in. We’re working on VA and SSDI applications now but this is such a terrible, slow process designed to make people give up. It could be a year before he sees any help.
His brain injury is far worse than he lets on to his friends online. If you chat with him over text or on an online forum, you only see this very brilliant, compassionate, patient, funny, capable guy. He is all that, but what you don’t know is that he has a constant headache, full body pain, vertigo, tinnitus, loss of short-term memory, inability to track time, and difficulty processing auditory speech and following compound instructions. He can’t handle being in a moving vehicle long, let alone drive. Everything is very taxing for him mentally and physically. He cannot work.
I’m shooting for pie in the sky at 10k but he may need a good 5 or 6 months in a rental somewhere, plus he has absolutely nothing. If something breaks with his housing situation and he gets back in, he still needs money for furnishings and kitchen items and personal items. He also needs an aide in the home. And he has kids.
Alternatively, if anyone has any housing resources in Las Vegas that is able to help, that would be amazing. He needs a very quiet, stable place in order to maintain his routine and continue to go to doctor's appointments.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. There is light at the end of the tunnel but the tunnel is so damn long.
