My sister is a bed-bound, hospice MS patient living in ra emote cabin near Lake Arrowhead, California. In a snowstorm Monday afternoon, their garage burned to the ground when their generator caught fire after Edison electric went out. Fire services couldn't reach them becuaue of the ongoing snowstorm. Devastation includied car, tools, and washer/dryer. They are isolated and cold, living on inaccessible- to-emergency services road near Green Lake in Lake Arrowhead area. There is no phone connection at this point, just text. Due to MS, their financial position is very precarious -- my sister is extraordinarily positive person who has been advocate for other MS sufferers over the past 30+ years. Everyone who knows her loves her. Her husband is her heroic sole caregiver at this point, 24/7. She can speak but only move one hand. They are frightened and need money to cover the cost of car rental, replacing elderly Subaru, generator (very likely Edison will go out again), restoring electric power, tools, washer/dryer, fuel for wood stove, food. You can make a real difference in someone's life. Together we are capable of much good. Funds are needed immediately as they need to rent a 4-wheel-drive vehicle, begin demolition and rebuilding of garage,  acquisition of generator. They need to know they are not alone; that others care.
