Snooki's Eye Surgery

My name is Brenda and I am fundraising for Snooki’s eye surgery

Snooki was part of the Manchester 16 that Green Mountain Pug Rescue saved in June 2022. Eleven pugs with no prior vetting, with none being neutered or spayed, and the majority needed serious eye intervention. At the drop of a hat when they needed fosters most, Cindi answered the call without question… Cindi took in one of the more medically challenged of the bunch and has undergone many medical procedures.

Snooki had the left eye removed as a "result of trauma," as the eye doctor put it. Initially, we thought it was from being inbred, so it didn't properly develop. But when the eye surgeon got in there, she said it was from trauma. This dog lived three years in a crate having babies. She came to Cindi, not housebroken and knowing very little of the outside world. But, despite that, she's incredibly sweet and has learned to trust people. Cindi lost one of her dogs two weeks before Snooki became medically cleared for adoption and couldn't handle losing her, even to another home. On August 31, 2022, Snooki, Pug #22-36, was adopted by Cindi.

Today, the eye surgeon said that Snooki would need eyelid surgery to keep the eye a little wetter and keep the eyeball from being at risk of popping out. If you've ever had dry eye, you know how painful and irritating it can be. Snooki is currently on three different prescriptions (3x day) that cost $140 per month; she also needs over-the-counter drugs six times a day. The surgery may cut down on the number of prescriptions and over-the-counter drops she needs. She hates getting eye drops, but it's a necessary evil. Surgery is scheduled for November 30th.
For those who don’t know Cindi, she has worked in rescue for many years. Cindi has personally made many road trips down south to save dogs and bring them back north. These days she fosters many dogs. Fostering saves two dogs. It saves the life of not only the rescue but allows another to be saved.
