The last couple of years have been challenging for the restaurant industry because of COVID-19. We suffered through the decrease in sales, the supply shortage, the rise in costs, the theft of our food truck's catalytic converter, and the ongoing employee shortage. Countless beloved restaurants in Austin have closed because of these pandemic-related issues. The last straw for us was a burglary that damaged our electrical system when the burglar cut the power to our Lamar location. In addition to losing almost everything in our fridge and freezers, the power loss also damaged most of our machines. We no longer have the ability to make more snow ice and to repair all that at this very moment. Winters have always been difficult for us but THIS year is the most difficult one.
Despite our best efforts, SnoMo (Lamar) will join the long list of businesses forced into closure by the pandemic. With a heavy heart, SnoMo (Lamar) last day of regular business will be 12/4/22. At the mean time, we are still trying our very best to figure out a way to get back to y'all next summer, but if not, please still remember all the wonderful times we shared together.
We want to thank you for your support for SnoMo through the years. We're proud to be the first to introduce Taiwanese snow ice to Austinites, to have won multiple awards at the Austin Ice Cream Festival, and to be part of your lives for over eight years. All good times must come to an end. Join us for the last hurrah and say goodbye to SnoMo (Lamar) before 12/4/22!
PS. SnoMo in Lakeway will remain open (which operates by different owner). Please continue your love and support for us by visiting them! Also, if you would do us a kind favor by helping us pay back our suppliers and landlord, please consider contributing to our GoFundMe. Every penny counts.
Please also let us know if you know anyone who'd like to take over the business, because....❄️MAKING AUSTIN SNOWY❄️ is our biggest goal since DAY ONE, and we hope this love lasts!
