Austin's Road to Recovery

Our Sugar Shack Cookie Co. family is heartbroken to share some difficult news about one of our own. Our beloved bakery manager, a vital part of our team, is facing an unimaginable situation.

On Tuesday, December 3rd, her son experienced a seizure while at his high school, leading to a serious fall and head injury. He is now at Comer Children’s Hospital at the University of Chicago, receiving care for multiple skull fractures, brain bleeding, and a loss of hearing in his left ear.

As a devoted mother of four, our bakery manager is balancing being by her son’s side at the hospital while also caring for her three other children. On top of this, the timing couldn’t be worse, with the Christmas season upon us and the family dealing with recent car troubles.

We know the holidays can be a challenging time financially for everyone, but we’re reaching out to our community for support. Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean the world to this family as they navigate this overwhelming situation.
