Fundraiser for Randy & Stacy (Fosdick) Marohl
Donation protected
Hi everyone, Stacy had been my best friend since kindergarten, her coworkers and I would love it if you could help Randy & Stacy out through this awful journey they are having in life. Here is their story.
In March 2017, as Randy (originally from Wahpeton,) Stacy (originally from Hope) and their two children were in the middle of moving from Colorado back to North Dakota to be closer to family, Randy was diagnosed with CLL (non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.) Due to insurance issues, Randy and Stacy had to fly back-and-forth to Colorado for his chemotherapy treatments until he could get insurance that would allow him to complete treatment at Roger Maris in Fargo.
Unfortunately, three years later Randy was hospitalized for a blood clot in his leg due to the return of his cancer. After finishing another six months of chemotherapy, he was put on oral chemo medications to help keep the cancer controlled. In April 2023 he got more bad news - His routine bloodwork showed his cancer had transformed into a very rare and aggressive form of Hodgkin's disease. This change is known as Richter's Transformation.
While Randy was undergoing a bone marrow biopsy, Stacy suffered a detached retina that left her unable to work for many weeks at her job as a dental hygienist in Valley City. She has since had three eye surgeries to restore her vision. Randy started his third round of treatment with a very strong chemo that has made it impossible for him to work at his job as a commercial plumber in Fargo.
Since May, Randy has been hospitalized many times due to complications from his cancer. Randy's oncologist has informed him that a bone marrow transplant is his only option at this point. Randy will be hospitalized 4 to 5 weeks following the transplant. Once he is released, he will need to stay in Fargo to be close to Roger Maris for the next two months. They have rented an apartment near the hospital and Stacy will take another leave from her job to be with him as he will need 24 hour care.
Any donation will help with the cost of living and medical expenses.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
