Snikvalds family house fire

Donation protected
Hello Squamish!

My name is Jocelyn Anderson-Byrnes and I am a support worker for the supported child development program at sea to sky community services. I have had the pleasure of getting to know the Snikvalds family since 2018 when I started to work with their daughter Lillian at 18 months old at her daycare Eagle View Child Development Centre.

Lily has spinabifida and has recently undergone her second detethering surgery. After having to take time off work to care for Lily before and after her surgery (which was postponed multiple times) the family was just starting to get back into a normal routine again. A few weeks ago Lily received her brand new wheelchair to start kindergarten with! Her mom, dad and two sisters are her biggest advocates and supporters!

On the night of June 1st there lives all changed when their home suddenly caught fire, luckily Sarah and Ahren were awake and everyone got out safe but the families kitten Jett is still missing and the damage to the home is severe. After losing almost everything and fleeing their home with only the clothes on there backs we are trying to make this tough reality a bit easier on them financially.

This incredible family has been through a tremendous amount and they need the support of this amazing community behind them! They are currently staying in a hotel that is paid for through Red Cross but only for 3 nights.

Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you squamish!!
