Cancer is a life altering, terrifying word that no one ever wants to hear. Unfortunately, my sister Melissa has been dealing with that very diagnosis, for the past several years.
Backstory:
In 2016, Melissa was diagnosed with breast cancer. After going through chemo, surgery and radiation, she was on the road to recovery. Cancer, however, leaves a path of destruction wherever it goes and there were mounting medical expenses that insurance would not cover. In December of 2018, Melissa started to have some other health concerns and has recently been diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. This has been a traumatic time for her and for our family. The medical bills are once again pouring in. She’s having to think about money at a time when she should be able to focus on herself, her family and her health.
Goal:
By creating this account, we can help alleviate some of the financial burden that has fallen on my precious family. Since we were children, Melissa has always been a wonderful, caring, fun loving person. She is a single mom to two amazing daughters and it breaks my heart to see them suffering.
How You Can Help:
Treatment prices, co-pays, etc. are astronomical. Insurance only goes so far. If you are looking to make a difference in someone’s life, I would urge you to consider donating. We read about people who need help all the time; but when it’s someone that you love, that you’ve grown up with, that means the world to you, everything changes. We may not be able to help Melissa physically; but we can certainly help to lift her spirits and make this somewhat easier for her and for my nieces. I’ve set a tentative goal, to help pay off some previous bills and to help offset future costs. I thank you in advance, from the bottom of my heart. Please keep my beautiful family, in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this truly difficult time.
