Help Pete Heal

We all know and love Pete. I think we can all agree that he is a great friend and would do anything for any one of us. Now we need to come together to help him.

 

On December 3, 2021 around noon, Pete was working on a car that had a fuel leak. He was using a cordless drill that somehow created a spark and caused a fire. His hands up to his elbows went up into flames, as well as his shirt. He managed to get his shirt off. In the meantime, he grabbed the fire extinguisher to put out the flames in the car all while his hands/arms were still on fire. He eventually was able to get the fire out on himself. He went to Northwest Medical Center in Margate, but they were not equipped to handle such burns. He was transported to Kendall Regional Hospital burn unit.

 

He has 3rd degree burns on both arms/hands from his elbows to his fingertips. I'll spare you the graphic photos, they are hard to look at. He has had 2 skin graft surgeries so far, with possibly more to come.

 

As we all know, Pete runs his own business. If he doesn't work, there is no income. He depends on his hands for work, and considering that is what was burned, it will be quite some time before he will be up and running.

 

Shop bills, medical bills and house bills will be rolling in soon. I am hoping we can raise enough money to keep him afloat for a few months so he can focus on healing and recovering from this "freak accident." (as he called it)

 

I know times are tough for all and it is also holiday time, but any amount at all will help.

 

For the record, Pete has no idea I am starting this Go Fund Me, but I am sure once he finds out, he is not going to be happy with me...AT ALL! He is a prideful Italian after all. :)
