Sneinton abc boxing club

Hi everyone, people from my local area may have spotted the re-emergence of a boxing club back in Sneinton at the greenway centre (trickets to us old timers) on trent lane. This will be a place close to a lot of my friends hearts as we virtually lived down there as kids whether it be football, cricket, boxing or simply throwing stones at one anothers head!!!

I popped down this week to meet with one of the organisers James Cher to see how Hunter electrical can help. We will fix some lights and install some new LED lights to make sure the young boys and girls feel safe leaving in the dark but these initiatives need help from the local community to give them the best chance to succeed. He has big plans which include an education programme and improving the facilities but this can only be done with sponsors and funding and more importantly, the local community

Boxing is a great way to get young kids off the streets of sneinton. As we are all aware the council are bankrupt and would rather blow money on a cycle lane than give these kids a place to go, train and have discipline they dont get anywhere else. The effects of knife crime has devestated us all in the area and boxing is a proven outlet for young men especially to release pent up energy and frustration. This boxing club WILL save someone from heading to dark places.

As a start another club has kindly given them a boxing ring which needs to be paid in instalments at a cost of £1500. Hunter electrical will donate £500 so im asking all my friends who grew up in the area to chuck in what you can no matter how big or small and get towards the target. Or if you are unable to donate please share so it reaches the biggest audience it can.

Classes have started this week for kids aged 6-16 so look up their facebook page and give that a share too or even better pop down to a class and show your support.
