Help the McManus Family Heal and Recover
Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Brittany and I started this GoFundMe for my Brother-In-Law and Sister-In-Law, Tim and Zully McManus. On Saturday, 7/13/24, around 7:45 AM, they, along with their 17-year-old son, Dom, were on their way home from NYC. They were dropping off their other 3 kids with their grandmother when they were involved in a serious car accident.
The car they were in struck a sign, went airborne for 47 feet, and landed in a small stream about 500 feet off the road in the woods. Tim was knocked unconscious at first and when he came to, he called 911 to get help for him and his family. They were transported to Cheshire Medical Center where it was determined that Zully needed stitches in her head, she broke her right wrist and hand, her left arm above the elbow, and has compression fractures in her back. Dom, thankfully, walked away with some seatbelt injuries and pain. Tim, on the other hand, was transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock with a cracked sternum, dislocated ankle, and multiple compression fractures in his back which may require surgery.
Tim is still in the hospital and will be until they can have him sit up comfortably and even then they have been talking about sending him to rehab. They both will be out of work for a long time. Tim, who is the driver of the family, will be non-weight bearing and unable to drive for months while he is recovering, leaving them unable to get to and from appointments without help. I've started this to hopefully take a little bit of financial weight off of them while they both recover. Any money raised will help with gas to get to and from appointments (Tim's Mom and Dad have been kind enough to step in already to help with this but on one income it's tough for them too), go towards continuing to board their dog Max (which is about $50 a day) as he can be a handful that Tim primarily handled, help when the other 3 kids come back from NYC in a few weeks for school, medical bills, monthly bills, and any other incidental costs they have while they're both out of work.
Thank you so much for your support while the McManus family heals.
