Life Changing Spinal Procedures for Georgia

Donation protected
Hello, for those of you that don’t know me I’m Georgia and I am 26 years old, a first time mum to my three year old little girl.

I’ve spent the last two and half years battling a Chronic Spinal Condition that has completely changed my life. In the last two years I’ve had 8 hospital stays, 1 Spinal Surgery and 3 day case procedures and countless hours of physiotherapy to still be seriously suffering from this horrendous problem.

My full story is below:
July 2020 just days before my daughter turned one I went to Accident & Emergency where a MRI Scan discovered I had L4/L5 Prolapsed Disc .
I was in severe pain in my back and my legs, bed bound, unable to walk completely reliant on my family for support. 6 months later (December 2020) I had L4/L5 Bilateral Discectomy Decompression Spinal Surgery.

After the surgery I went straight into 2021 with every ounce of hope and determination for a straight forward recovery. However, I still endured severe back pain. With the pain not subsiding and growing worse throughout the year my Spinal Surgeon confirmed I had a separate spinal condition called Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction. I continued to battle to get better and do everything I possibly could to get fit, strong and upbeat to keep mine and my daughters life positive, full of hope and gratitude.

March 2022 I received the most devastating news. I was back in hospital, excruciating pain had returned to my legs as well as back, waiting for the MRI results, I was told my L4/L5 disc had re prolapsed, and there was a newly developed disc prolapsed at L3/L4.

Recently returning back to A&E in August unable to take anymore pain, I had yet another MRI Scan which was then sent to a Neurosurgeon. He told me I am living with Failed Back Surgery Syndrome, Degenerative Disc Disease with Slipped Discs and Nerve Entrapments.
I’ve been told that further back surgery at this stage to my disc prolapses could hinder me more as I’m highly likely to re prolapse again which would leave me in worse pain and more scar tissue. As more spinal surgery at this stage isn’t going to help my symptoms the neurologist has told me my only option is to try several different procedures to hope for better pain management and quality of life.

Unfortunately I do not have private health care and I am being told by secretaries that for the procedures I need, the NHS wait is immensely long due to the covid back log. It would mean the world to me if anyone reading this could donate and help towards the procedures. With these donations I am able to be booked in for these procedures with no lengthy wait time.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for your support. It means so so much to me, I’m doing this for myself but most importantly my daughter. She is the reason I want to do everything possible to get better for her, she is my entire world, the most incredible little girl and my biggest supporter.

I will keep everyone updated with my journey.

Lots of love
Georgia.
