11 years ago, I was a promising graduate student in the sciences.  I had always had unusual health difficulties, problems with my joints and spine, my skin and my gut and more.  I was not to know that they would become so serious so suddenly.  Like a bolt of lightning, suddenly the pain became overwhelming.  Before long, I became bedridden and took medical leave from school until a solution could be found.

I also have been fortunate to meet and receive letters of support from several rabbi's and others: from Rabbi Sauer Rabbi Brander and Rabbi Lazarus  , Salvador Litvak  (the Accidental Talmudist,) and Rabbi Stan Levy .  Many friends and others in the community would be glad to speak in support, and I can share notes from some of my doctors on request.

I am struggling more than ever during this pandemic, and must find the financial support I need for remission.  Please watch my appeal, read my story below and give and share with anyone you can.  It means so much to me to survive, and in order to do that much longer I must achieve remission from my condition.  I know this is miracle is possible through medications, treatments, and by working with doctors towards my goals- very little of which is covered by the very little aid I qualify for, as I became too disabled to work before working full time towards Disability.  Please help me to find the financial support that I need.



For 11 years I went through dozens of second opinions, across the country  hundreds of hospital stays, and tried both standard and alternative treatments of a great many descriptions.   Doctors know exactly what is happening: my immune system simply cannot tell good from bad in some places; it is eating some of my organs alive.  The treatments that work for most have sadly not helped me in 11 years of desperate struggle.

With help from my good friend Rabbi Lazarus I came to Los Angeles in 2018; with his help and the help of so many more I was able to work with a number of doctors and treatments, many of which I had researched for years.  The relief was incredible, the inflammation slowed substantially.   Even slowed however, 11 years of damage has still taken a terrible toll.  It has not been easy, but I have built the physical emotional and spiritual strength needed, one step at a time.  The financial end of continuing treatments, doctors and clinical visits, and more has been equally a challenge; my SSI/partial disability represents only a tiny fraction of my living and medical expenses, and I must find more support in order to continue.



I was coming closer and closer to remission at the beginning of 2020; with this pandemic has come countless emergencies, complications, and difficulties of every conceivable shape and size.   My condition has flared more and more, the symptoms have become worse and worse, and my medical costs skyrocketed.  I would be in the hospital much of the time, except for the difficulties presented by the coronavirus pandemic.

Because I was a graduate student, I had not worked enough full time years for full disability. Instead I get by on a meager amount, and must find what I need to pay doctors, and specialty and compounding pharmacies and clinics if I am to have a chance at remission.

It is unclear how much longer I have to find such; the immune condition has spread to my spine, liver, spleen, GI tract, pancreas, kidneys, skin and more.  The pain has for many years now caused and compounded serious damage to my nervous system. My days are full of excruciating pain, nausea, skin problems, joint and back problems and more, all of which can be treated if only I can afford the right treatments. I am working hard all the time to improve my situation, apply for whatever aid I can, and find whatever help is possible, but your financial help is critical for my continued survival.

Please; help me to achieve the miracle I need to push my condition into remission, and to achieve the healing . Together I know it is possible.

To meet my ongoing costs for prescription and over the counter medications, and to pay the doctors and clinic I am currently working with, I need to raise at least 10,000 for the next three months.  There are treatments I urgently need to start, but for now I am setting my goal at 10,000.  In the next three months I will use those funds to continue to manage symptoms and build strength, and work towards calming my condition and finding sources of work o other support for myself.  My life depends on continuing these treatments, please give what you can and share with anyone you can think of, anywhere you can think of.
