The Shauna Marie Sarkauskas Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a local a Rhinelander High School student pursing a career in the Behavioral/Mental health, Substance Abuse/AODA counseling services or Law Enforcement fields. This will be an annual award presented each May in the sum of $1,000.00 to a deserving student looking to help those struggling with addiction, and looking to change our social stigmas that surround those who suffer with a mental health condition and/or substance abuse.
Shauna was a daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin, friend and co-worker to so many in our small, tight knit community. She maintained a constant sense of humor throughout her days, had an infectious laugh that could cross county lines, and had a heart capable of giving much more than enough.
August 27th, 2019, Shauna's journey to her next life, (Somewhere greater than we could ever imagine) became a reality when her addiction ultimately ended.
The Shauna Marie Sarkauskas Memorial Scholarship will create a positive 'stigma' to those looking to make a difference, hopefully for not just years, but decades. I am asking for a goal of $2,000.00 to start with, so the scholarship it self has at least two years worth of funds to be awarded to deserving students.
Please know that even a generous donation of $5.00 will help encourage a future of a substance abuse decline. Your commitment and devotion to a brighter future is MORE than appreciated from myself and the family of Shauna Marie. Lets get this off to a fantastic start, and have Shauna's name glorified in the ears of our community! I thank you for your time and attention to someone so near and dear to so many.
