Donna was diagnosed with Non Hodgkin's lymphoma 6 years ago. Hers is the one of rarest types and being incurable so wont ever go into remission, has huge mental health impact, which affects any future plans and thoughts. When she get tumours they become really aggressive. She had to have full blown chemo she had a big tumour 16cm working it's way from her hip around bladder and bowel also tumours on kidneys. After the chemo 2 years of maintenance and various drugs. The chemo destroys all your nerve ends so she struggles gripping stuff and it also affects her memory hers is now terrible. This had a big impact on my mental health, have had a small heart attack and then subsequently I've been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, high blood pressure waiting for cardiology, diabetes, this has had a huge impact on my working capacity.
We recently found out more bad news! Her cancer has come back and she has a huge mass in her stomach and pelvic area. A knock on of this are the side affects, anyone that has had full blown chemo will know they are horrendous!
We are now having to fight all over again. Due to circumstances hitting us all at the same time we have had to give up our family home and move into rented property.
We are struggling so much as her work will only pay 3 months wages. So once we lose her income were not going to be able to live. Our day to day life is going to hit rock bottom. We have worked hard all our lives never claimed a bean.
We would like some help to at least pay our rent so we have a home for the next 12 months so at least at the worst we wont have to worry about that. Luke's also starting the most important time in his life as goes into GCSE year so would like a stable home so he can do his very best which I'm sure he will. Donna has been amazing she's been so strong has always smiled and laughed and not once have I heard her moan about the pain or her lot she's been such a brilliant Mom to Luke and Brandon never letting cancer affect her mood onto the boys or me even though it's been hell at times. Its been incredibly tough to set this up, as were are very proud and are self starters and proactive people. But were at our wits end. We don't know where to turn anymore and we hate begging! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any help. I will keep this page updated with how this new lot of treatment is going and Donna's journey through bloody chemo again...
