In mid-September, our dear friend, brother, son, partner, life of the party  Greg Young suffered an aortic dissection -- a catastrophic heart problem and stroke-like events which has dimmed his bright, shining star. We are asking for your prayers for his recovery as he is still in crisis mode at this point.

As of September 23, Greg is still in ICU.  As we hope for all of the best in his recovery, there will be speech, physical and occupational therapy.  This all means a long time, tons of bills (along with no working)…let’s try to take at least some of the financial burden off and as things progress, do signups for dinner, help with transportation, etc. 

There is so much rehabilitation in his future, and he and Derek need our support.  We all know they would be the first to jump to our aid, so here’s our opportunity to do something for them.

I’ve known Greg since college, and I just can’t imagine my lively, happy, wonderfully brilliant and hysterical friend being out of commission.  My heart goes out to "Mama", my dear funny (and furry) friend...we all love Greg and his amazing personality and huge (but apparently faulty) heart.  Please help however you can - Derek and Penny will do their best to update Caring Bridge as they can.

I know they both appreciate all of our love and prayers and Derek and Penny are doing their best to respond but want everyone to know how grateful they are for all of the support.  Their focus is on being with Greg in ICU now and it's hard to get back to everyone...but I know they are feeling everyone's kind wishes.
