Smokey's Surprise Surgery

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Cole and im fundraising for Ashley's dog Smokey. Ashley is an EA in the Alberta Public School system and has currently been on strike for multiple weeks fair wages after nearly a decade without a wage increase.

Ashley adopted Smokey when he was 3 years old from a shelter in Edmonton. He is originally from Fox Lake where he was living outside and was not doing well. He was found with a very large wound on his neck and had a horribly broken toe on his front left leg which ended up getting aputated. He has extreme anxiety when left alone and is a mute Husky. Even after all these experiences Smokey is a calm Husky who enjoys his Fridays in daycare with his friends, his walks in the nearby dog park, and of course his time with grandma. He is also the only husky I know that wears winter boots, he has sensitive feet, but can you blame him?

Ashley and Smokey have been valiantly weathering the storm. Being on weeis of strike in blistering cold weather, streets and sidewalks slick with ice. Then Smokey developes a small cough after recovering from kennel cough during Christmas. He stopped eating and his grandma noticed his stomach felt different during belly rubs. He was taken to the vet where he was found to have a watermelon sized tumor in his abdomen that had ruptured his spleen and caused internal bleeding. He needed emergency surgery to remove the spleen and tumor to save his life.

Smokey made it out of the surgery, the Vet said he had lost a good portion of blood due to the internal bleeding but no complications during the surgery helped Smokey make it through. He is on the road to recovery with a new scar and cone to show off to the ladies.

Smokey made it through the surgery but needs his mom to also be able to pay rent. His Vet bill was $3300 and anything you are willing to help out with would be graciously appreciated.
