Our sweet two-year-old Russian Blue, Smokey, recently faced a life-threatening emergency. He developed a sudden urinary blockage, which is extremely dangerous and can be fatal if not treated immediately. We rushed him to the emergency vet at Blue Pearl, where he had to undergo urgent treatment to relieve the blockage and stabilize him.

The vet explained that male cats are especially prone to urinary blockages, and it’s something that can happen suddenly, even in young, otherwise healthy cats. Seeing him in pain and struggling broke my heart, but thankfully the emergency team was able to save him.

Unfortunately, the cost of emergency care is very high, and we are facing bills that we cannot cover on our own. Between the emergency visit, catheterization, fluids, medications, and medicated food diet, the expenses are overwhelming.

Smokey is more than just a pet—he’s family. Smokey is David’s best friend and soulmate. David and I would do anything for Smokey, as he brings so much joy to our lives. We are doing everything we can to make sure he recovers fully and lives a long, healthy life.
