SMLC Road to Greatness

My family first learned about Mr. Kevin and the Strawberry Mansion Learning Center (SMLC) through Lester Holt's Inspiring America segment in 2017. Seeing Mr. Kevin turn a bar into an after-school safe haven and wholeheartedly involve himself in the well-being of his community was so inspiring that we felt moved to join his cause.

 

The SMLC is a very important place for kids to learn and grow. It has provided meals, tutors, educational trips, and free summer camps; and in 2020, I partnered with the center to create and facilitate a public speaking workshop and tournament with the help of local celebrity judges and mentors.

 

I pledge to raise $15,000 for SMLC educational programs through my speaking engagements and presentations of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s "What is in your Life's Blueprint" speech.
