Help Me Get Breast Explant Surgery

Donation protected
Dear Friends and Supporters,

My name is April Groefsema, and I am reaching out to share my journey and to ask for donations for an important surgery. I have spent the last 18 years of my life searching to find the root cause of my ongoing health issues. It wasn't until a friend of mine recently shared her own experience with Breast Implant Illness and the rashes she developed, that I began to connect the dots for myself.

I got breast implants as a teenager and at the time, believed it was a good decision for my body and my self-expression. I have recently discovered these implants are making me sick and I need to have them surgically removed. The surgery is not covered by insurance and we are not in a position to pay out of pocket due to unfortunate costly legal events. We are hoping our community can help by making a donation. I am approaching my 40th birthday in February. My wish as I enter this new decade of my life, is to stop battling these implant symptoms and begin to thrive.

Over the last 18 years, I have visited countless doctors, naturopaths, dermatologists, allergists, etc seeking answers for my symptoms only to be met with dead ends. No one considered that my breast implants could be the undetected catalyst for my health symptoms. I hope my willingness to share this story can potentially help someone else out there who might be struggling to find answers as well.

One doctor did send me down the right track when he discovered my symptoms were related to toxins. At the time, I was living in the Central Valley of California for the last 13 years and my health was progressively declining. He determined this was a result of a histamine reaction due to an overload of environmental toxins. The area I was living in often has hazardous air quality and high chemical residue due to large agricultural operations and smog. He was the first person who mentioned to me the concept of toxins and the way they can impact our body. His suggestion was that I gather up my family and move to a cleaner environment.

So, as doctor suggested, we took all necessary measures with our family, and we moved to Arkansas. My symptoms improved and I was finally feeling like I had some of my life back. My energy levels increased, my depression lifted, hives were less by the day, and auto immune systems improved. Then we received surprising and heartbreaking news. What once was a family decision to move to a healthier environment became a 2 year long court battle costing us over $150,000. This ultimately resulted in massively decreased time with my daughters and a heaping pile of debt we are still trying to sort out.

On a positive note, I now understand that moving into a cleaner environment helped me because it helped reduce the toxin overload on my already taxed system. These implants have been leeching out toxins in my body over the last 21 years and it has taken a toll on my health. I am so ready to have these suckers removed and finally know what it feels like to be healthy.

I am eternally grateful for you taking the time to read my story. I have been wanting to share it in hopes it opens doors of healing for others as well. No offering is too small, a prayer, a simple word of encouragement, a sharing of this campaign, or a donation is all a beautiful offering that I will receive with open arms and a warm heart.

With love and gratitude,
