Smitty's bypass and Dee's recovery
Hello, my name is Darlene daughter of Clement (Smitty ) and Doretha Smith.
On Thursday July 15, 2021 all of us held our hearts together as the patriarch of our family underwent open heart surgery. We were praying and optimistic that God would bring our Dad out of surgery successfully and he did!! Only for him to be re-hospitalized july 26th for critically low sodium . I went to pick him up on july 30th day of discharge and I noticed a little blood at the incision site. By the time I got him home his clothes were full of blood and hear pillow as well. Home health came and bandaged him up . Later that night he had to be rushed back to have emergency surgery because the incision opened all the way. Picked him up last Friday from rehab and saturday mom began feeling bad and had to be admitted Wednesday . She is currently in the hospital with covid 19 but getting better each day. Once she comes home she will have home health care to help her get stronger. She currently is using a walker to get around.Although we thought the hardest part was over, none of us could have expected or completely prepare for any of these things. Our parents have a long recovery journey ahead of them and me along with my siblings will help as much as we can .We appreciate all of the love and support that our family has received through this tough time and we are asking that you continue to pray for his strength and healing. Thank you in advance for any contribution you can make. My parents never ask for anything but I know this will help them tremendously for hospital bills ,home bills, and to help with dad's automotive business. This has been one of the hardest times of my life but God is faithful, good and merciful.
