Smirna Children's Dream Primary School

Hi, my name is Jenny and I am fundraising for a deprived Primary school based in Tanzania- Africa.

This school is called Smirna Children's Dream.

Last September, I worked here for 1 month as a voluntary teacher to gain some teaching experience outside the UK. However, it wasnt what I expected and teaching was proven difficult, stressful and somewhat impossible due to the lack of resources such as pens, pencils, books, furniture, computers, classrooms and even qualified teachers, but the 1 thing that was highly rich over here was the respect and love that came from these beautiful children, and now I'd like to give back and help these children to gain a good education.

Elisha, the director of the school is an inspiring man with an inspiring story behind the development of his school. His wish is to help break the cycle of poverty occuring in this community by providing a good education for many generations to come.

The education system is completely different over here with little help from authorities unlike UK who put education at the forefront, so therefore, people tend to set up their independent schools- but it comes with blood, sweat and tears...literally! And therefore becomes unsuccessful.

By providing an fully functional educational establishment in this community, this will help to produce qualified nurses, doctors, teachers, lawyers and police officers which is really needed in this community and will prevent young children hanging around on the streets, getting into trouble and prevent children from getting pregnant which results in the cycle to repeat once again.

I cant see this school fail and become unsuccesful. So to help give this school a good boost with resources, furniture and more foundations for additional classrooms, I am asking my friends and family and my community to sponsor me to hike Mount Tiede at night on the 18th and 19th of June, 2025 by donating a few pounds to help with the growth the school and to break the cycle of poverty here. These children deserve it so much.

The school director will be able to view the amount raised, and once it's ended, the money will be transfered via western Union into the schools account.
