Smiling shouldn't be a luxury!
Donation protected
Being poor is a constant series of heartbreaks and humiliations. Unfortunately, having healthy teeth in our society is a huge luxury, and the shame of having a splintered smile has been crushing me.
Years ago, I took a punch to the lower jaw as part of an attempted gay bashing. I will always remember the sound of my teeth breaking. My dentist at the time told me to wait for the teeth to die and then get them replaced all at once. He said it could take a year, it could take ten.
My worst fears have started to happen and it is horrible! Last year on my birthday, while drinking a glass of water, two of my front teeth popped out (mercifully without pain.)
I have a great dentist, who understands trauma informed care, and now all I need to do is beg my friends on the internet to help me afford the procedure.
I know the economy sucks and inflation has everyone feeling strapped, but any amount of money would really really improve my reality.
