My name is Jeremy, and I have been Sherry's husband for going on seventeen years. In that time, I have learned two very important facts about her. One, always agree with her! Never get into an argument with her....you will lose. And second, that I have never met anyone that genuinely enjoyed helping and doing for others as much as she does. Not for fame or attention, but just for the simple joy of it. Rarely is she without a smile, a joke, or smartass comment. All of it to makes those around her feel just that little bit better.
Even when she discovered that first tender lump in her throat back in 2016, the diagnosis of thyroid cancer barely even cracked her resolve. This leads one to another facet of Sherry: She's a fighter! She heard this, and not a tear, not a whimper; without missing a beat she answered the news with, "So what do we do about it?" To her, the bell just rang, and the fight was on!
Unfortunately, round two began a year later. The news of Endometrial cancer was a blow, but she again took it in stride. A 'Never Give Up' attitude took her through the hysterectomy, and helped her recover quickly.
Little did we expect that bell to ring for a third round. It seemed that the last cancer had a few more punches to throw. And though worn out, and thoroughly annoyed, Sherry slipped her gloves back on and said, "Bring it!"
As of me writing this, she's still in the fight. A few chemo treatments in, and her main complaint is that her thinning hair keeps getting in her mouth when she eats.
She dislikes asking others for anything, but her and I both fear what future medical bills may come. So, after some discussion, we decided to start this GoFundMe with her sister, Sharon, who will be running and managing it. Its main purpose is to be a safety net against those bills, and to help with gas, car maintenance, and food.
Thank you for taking time to consider this GoFundMe, and to read this attempt to summarize my wonderful wife, though I feel it falls short of the reality. And also thank you for your well wishes, prayers, and donations. They are all equally important to us.
