Katie Wakefield, my honorary niece, Gail's youngest daughter, was planning on celebrating her 23rd birthday on January 1st.
Unfortunately, it was spent in the hospital at her husbands side. Her husband Alex was in a terrible car accident (hydroplaning on his way home, car went airborne, and by looking at the pictures, he survived by God's grace only).
This young family, they share a daughter, Ava, has had a rough time with Covid last year. Quarantine, business closure, loss of income......we all heard about it and/or experienced it first hand.
2020 was taxing but they didn't give up! They pulled together, and made one of their dreams come true by purchasing a small but perfect home for the three of them. They worked hard, spent hours, tears and sweat to make their new house a home.....and as they moved in and made their first steps to come out on the other side love threw them a curve ball.....the accident.
With a little help from friends I would like to put a smile on Katie's face!
Her and her husband are trying desperately to hold it together for their daughter Ava. Alex's injuries are severe and it will be month before he can go back to work.
Please pray and search your heart of you can spare a little to help a young family in need. A little will go a long way to share hope, strength and encouragement.
Paying it forward and the kindness of prayer, friends, family and strangers holds power!
