I donated to several Go Fund Me campaigns to help others when I was employed. I never anticipated this day would come when I must reach out for crowdfunding for myself to get medical and dental care. Hopefully, the saying that what goes around comes around rings true.
Currently, my top priority is to replace recently removed front teeth with a much-needed partial plate which is cost prohibitive, as you will discover by reading on.
I appeal to you openly because of the multiple layers of challenge and grief stacked upon me. Briefly, I share some of my situation and story:
In 2016, my only child died of a rapidly progressive cancer that took his life quickly and left me devastated. We were extremely close! At the time, I lived alone on a tight budget in a small cottage behind a house on a lovely property. Four months after my son’s death, I was given the notice to move because the landlord was selling, and I was forced out of my lifelong community of friends due to cost. Therefore, I moved out of town to be near relatives.
Before my landlord informed me of my mandatory move, I suffered a life-altering injury on the job where I worked for three years at a non-profit serving the homeless population. My horrible back injury cost me my job, and financial stability hampered my physical abilities and rendered me clearly and legally disabled. Disability insurance proved inadequate financial support which heaped additional strain and worry on me. My savings account was declining rapidly and eventually was fully drained. I sadly remain disabled and must pace my life carefully due to constant pain, which eventual surgery hopefully will reduce.
Through this experience, my family has been consistently very loving and supportive, yet I need help beyond what loved ones can give me. I cannot go around this, so I have to go through it to seek a practical solution by working hard to help myself prepare for desperately needed back surgery and dental work.
As I work at enhancing my health daily on a stationary bike my brother gave me in cooperation to follow the doctor’s orders to prepare for serious back surgery. I am also working with a dentist to replace all of my recently removed upper front teeth. I am ashamed of how I look during this journey and need to immediately remedy my need for a partial denture.
Another significant reason dental work is a top priority I have a frightening problem with the esophageal stricture that causes the esophagus to narrow, making it more difficult for food to travel down the tube. Recently I had to go to the emergency room to have food removed. Therefore, teeth are required to chew food thoroughly before swallowing. My dental work is essential and is already scheduled. I lack the funding to cover the cost of $5,000.00 that remains as I promised my dentist I would somehow generate the funds. Please help me!
