3/4/2020 Update: Scott went to the heart Dr. today! Dr. Bertele is going to try and talk to his Nephrologist and see if they will agree to go ahead and do his PD tube in his stomach very soon as long as they can keep him on his blood thinners. Pray they can do this so he can do home dialysis! This will make the biggest difference in the world for Scott and not have to take off so much of work with not having any leave. This would be a great accomplishment
Scott Middleton is a son of Larry and Deanna Connelly, Sibling to John Connelly (wife Melody and nieces/nephew Kylie, Mya & Mav) Allison Middleton (significant other Sam Norris, niece/nephew Makayla & Dylan), Dad/Stepfather of 6 Amazing children Kaitlyn(23) Kayla(19) Ethan(14) Brooklynn(13)Logan (20)Cameron(17) Grandfather of 3 Vincent (5) Kali (1) Kyler (4 mosk) and a husband to myself Kristina and one of the Greatest Coaches to many of those through out Southern Maryland/Tri County Areas and many other states. Unfortunately, Scott as you have heard , has been diagnosed with Stage 6 End of Stage Renal Disease in August 2019. Everyone has been so generous and praying for our family. Recently Scott has been accepted into the University of Md Transplant Center to be placed on the Deceased Donor List! He had 12 weeks to complete ALL tests to be “actually” on the list. His first step is be on home dialysis and that is what we are trying to complete. You see Scott’s dialysis we found out cost at a facility is $6500 per treatment. He must go 3 times a week/4 weeks a month which equals out to be $78,000 a month. We are required to pay a portion of that with our insurance until he is approved for Medicare A. Medicare while in a facility will not approve him until he is on dialysis in a facility for 3 months or more! 78,000 for 3 months is $234,000. That’s fine! It’s whatever! He is able to apply for Medicare now without home dialysis. Home dialysis they will cover right away! Scott had a stress test last week with an amazing cardiologist that was required before having his tube placed for it. When they entered the dye it showed 80% of the dye ran through fine but, approximately 20% did not.
