The film will hold a spotlight to gender-based oppression in 1930s Australia. The work challenges inherited norms around identity, family and conformity while portraying the generational impact of silence.
In collaboration with The Vision Production House, the making of Smells Like Lavender will platform underrepresented voices, and will be created with a majority women-identifying and queer crew.
