#Pray4Shay to beat breast cancer

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Josh, I am creating this fundraiser for my fiancé Desha (Shay) Martin. We have been inseperable since the day we met on November 11, 2009. Shay was diagnosed with stage 4 invasive ductile carcinoma (HER2+) breast cancer way back in May of 2014, 9 very long years ago. Since that time, she has undergone countless rounds of chemotherapy, a total hysterectomy, a double mastectomy, radiation treatment, and drastic lifestyle changes. She also had to have part of her lower jaw removed due to side effects from the drugs they were giving her, which the first surgeon screwed up, forcing her to go through that same surgery again. Shay is not only the most beautiful woman you have ever seen on the outside, but on the inside as well. She has gone through all of this torture and pain and suffering with a smile on her face. She is kind and sweet and considerate of everyone else around her, always putting their problems above her own. The sweetest, most lovable person you could ever hope to meet, and the last person on the planet who deserves everything she has gone through. It has been 9 years now, and she is still here, trying to smile. Only 13% of people survive this long with the cancer that she has. Her smile is fading, and I would do anything at all to keep it there. Her body has built up a resistance to the chemotherapy drugs, and is no longer working, and she has been given less than 12 months to live, as the cancer has spread to her bones all over her body. There is a new type of treatment that is very promising called immunotherapy that she desperately needs, but that insurance refuses to cover, and is outrageously expensive. She cannot work, and I cannot afford it.. Shay deserves to be able to enjoy the rest of her life on Earth, however long that may be. My only goal in life is to make her as comfortable, happy, and healthy as possible. If we can get her the right treatment from the right Doctors, there is still a chance to beat this, but if we get her the treatment and it doesn't work, we need to at least give Shay the most enjoyable and stress free year possible. If you are just a regular person like me, and can't afford to donate, at least pass this along to someone you know who is in a position to help. My hope is that this story will spread across the globe and reach some powerful people with big hearts and deep pockets. It's going to take a miracle, but with God, all things are possible. At the end of the day, if there is no other way, at the very least, Pray4Shay. In the most humble way possible, I thank you for at least taking the time to read and learn a little bit about us. God Bless.
