On April 18th 2013 I was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. I have a different type of colon cancer it spread to my abdominal wall instead of going to my liver right away. I recently just found out that my cancer has spread to my lungs and to my liver. As of June 18th 2014 I was told that my cancer has spread to all of my major organs have have been given about 6 months to live and that's on the good side. I am a father of 4 children Jordan who is 14 Haileigh who is 13 Owen who is 11 and Sophia who is 4. My youngest son Owen is autistic and is having a rough time dealing with this situation as well as the other children. This money will go towards paying my funeral costs because right now I cannot work due to the cancer, while my wife is working part time and also going to school for nursing so she can provide a better future for the family. I have done 2 cycles of chemotherapy, the first cycle of chemo was 14 weeks and they thought they could operate and found out that my tumors were inoperable in the operation room and 1 cycle of radiation which was 5 weeks long everyday monday through friday. Now I have been put on hospice so they can come out to the house and take care of me which means I have a Do not Resuscitate order. Some people think I have given up and I have not. I just want my quality of life to be comfortable while I spend these next few remaining months, making memories with my family. So far I have had a positive attitude about this and I think you have to. So thank you very much for listening to my story and have an awesome day.
